Wherever you need more than two hands, wherever it's imperative that something must not slip, or wherever wood needs to be glued, Clamps will be there. I use clamps on just about every project, and they make everything a whole lot easier.
Often times, taking apart a pallet can result in broken and split lumber, and it's there that clamps enter the picture in my wood shop. From the very beginning of each project clamps are there to lend a grip, making sure the glued bond between broken pieces holds tight.
Aside from their use in gluing, clamps are made for a variety of situations that can be used for various other applications. C-Clamps, miter clamps, bar clamps, hand-screw clamps, spring clamps - all the clamps! My favorites are using c-clamps to secure lumber before I run the router, and using miter clamps to made sure my frames are lined up with a perfect 90 degree corner.
For always being able lend a hand, this week's Tool of the Month is the mighty Clamp.
